A.J. Kaufmann - LHOOQ

[EN] Latest album release by Polish project A.J. Kaufmann, 17 tracks of postpunk psychobilly rock sounds inspired from the famous self-titled Duchamp piece, Butthole Surfers, Chrome, and Black Sabbath. The album artwork is by Izabella Schoener, from an art performance Kaufmann was part of in late 2015, called "Human Exhibition". The performance was mostly about mental health in modern society, but also touched on themes like urban darkness, myths, legends, and cliches, also surrealism and noise rock. It inspired several of the songs on the LP.

[PT] Album mais recente do projecto Polaco A.J. Kaufmann, 17 temas de rock postpunk psychobilly inspirado na homónima famosa peça de arte de Duchamp, nos Butthole Surfers, Chrome e Black Sabbath. A arte do album é da autoria de Izabella Schoener, retirada de uma performance artistica da qual Kaufmann participou em 2015 entitulada "Human Exhibition". A performance era maioritariamente sobre saude mental na sociedade moderna, mas também tocava nos temas de escuridão urbana, mitos, lendas, e clichés, também surrealismo and noise rock. Inspirou vários temas do albums.

[EN] With a very wide mix of influences ranging from post-punk, deathrock, industrial, space rock, lofi experimental electronics and krautrock we present to you Polish author and poet A.J. Kaufmann with his latest full album release of his own unique music style, self-refered as brutalist rock. Artwork by Justin Jackley. Album concept based loosely on Level 7, a 1959 science fiction novel by Ukrainian-born Israeli writer Mordecai Roshwald.
