FeedbackLoop Label proudly presents you the first ep of 2011 by Monolyth and Cobalt. And I couldn't think of a better way to start 2011, as Monolyth and Cobalt is such a talented artist, that isn't afraid of expanding the boundaries of ambient and classical music.
A journey is a beautiful thing. In most cases the journey is as important as the destination it takes you, or the final copy of something you create. The silhouette that the leaves make against the sky takes you through a number of journeys over the course of twenty-two minutes, and each one of these is breathtaking.
I decided to go on an expedition of my own, accompanied by the music of Daniel Hopkins aka Landcrash. I began by walking the streets of my town without knowledge of where I was going or how I was going to get there, and as each track played out before me like a mini narrative I felt compelled to write about the stories that came to my mind, illustrated by this release.
In the distance I could hear the echoing thud of tools against wood, a carpenter slowly shaping his creation one knock at a time, guiding himself through a creative process which would end in something timeless. Walking further I pictured a young child with his head held high in awe of the passing clouds, on a journey of his own. As the final seconds of the record fade away I felt I had come far enough and my own short journey was over.
In listening to this release, Landcrash has illustrated to me pockets of discovery and creation. And so I leave you with one suggestion, wherever and whenever your next journey takes you, let The silhouette that the leaves make against the sky accompany that journey, it will make it all the more sweeter.
Uma nova edição na MiMi Records e esta vem com brinde. Além da música de Ivo Hoogveld (a.k.a ew), podemos também admirar o pequeno booklet com ilustrações do próprio músico.

I’ve Lost makes music for serious listening, and not merely background or ambience. This music takes you places where you need to go. It explores the heart of Inner Space. It will make you think.
FeedbackLoop Label proudly presents Ambienteer a very prolific and talented ambient musician.
When I first approached James Fahy (Ambienteer) to invite him to release at FeedbackLoop Label he presented me with an idea, to browse through is collection of more than 200 tracks in his website and choose the ones I wanted. And so I did it, and listened to all of them, I chose the 6 tracks in this release. It was a pleasant challenge and the best thing is that you can also do it. If you check his webpage you can also make your private compilation of Ambieenter work, full of delicate ambiences and well crafted moments.
Marcus Fischer, otherwise known as “mapmap” (or through his blog, www.dustbreeding.com), has spent the last months collecting excellent field recordings using contact mics and other methods to create some of the most unique sounds that allow us to explore more closely the music in nature. Arctic/Antarctic is an amazing exposition of aural-ganic analyzing, synthesizing, and abstraction generation.
Attracted to subtle and minimal arrangements, they develop the most interesting musical dialogue on their joint ep "Take This Longing". While Williams usually holds the talk with cautious notes and chords, Rosado illustrates these fine contours with his discrete electronic sounds and field recordings. Both respond to one another, closely observing every musical move to be ready for the next answers and the right questions.
"Take This Longing" invites you to spy this dialogue. And you consequently take part in it - as listening is part of the art of communicating.
This month is our second anniversary and to celebrate we bring you this stunning album of deep, textured sonic exploration from Boise Idaho's, Hope Hampton. Hope is a classically trained violinist and pianist, but here she turns her talents toward digital signal processing; however, traces of her classical roots can be inferred from the fine attention to detail and careful use of space demonstrated throughout the album. We are proud to be able to release this, Hope's debut album, on Distance.
A group of dusty organic pieces that sonically represent a mountainous hike in mist and the day’s memories, as far as weather conditions will let you go. A french horn bellows and the distance on an early May day in northern New Hampshire.
For his E.P on Audio Gourmet 'In The Shadows Of The Occluding Body', Valles has explored darker territory than in previous releases. Throughout this atmospheric 2 track journey, the overall listening experience is riddled with a sense of doom as Damian explores an array of carefully sculpted guitar-based drone textures.
Bright dawn sketches is an ambient album focused on exploring different environments, from urban solitude, sirens crying, ocean waves crashing in the shores and sunbeams reflected in the clouds. Some instruments were used (a crackle box and a sruti box), some composition techniques were also used (for example, minimalism and time stretching) as well as some software (iphone) and voice. All the tracks contained in this release were made with some concepts in mind.
